At Het Amsterdamse Winterparadijs, we work to reduce our environmental impact in several ways:
- Christmas trees are composted.
- Decorations are made to be reused for five years.
- We do not distribute flyers.
- Food vendors use bio-based disposable tableware.
- Wood is collected separately and given to an artist to reuse creatively.
- Coffee grounds are collected and reused to grow mushrooms.
- We work with local food businesses and entrepreneurs to support the local economy.
- Fabrics we can no longer use are collected and made into clothing for people in developing countries and those on low incomes.
- The Cinema is furnished with discarded furniture, giving it a second life.
- We are a cashless event: visitors pay by card, so we do not use plastic payment tokens.
- We use a cup recycling system to collect plastic cups and prevent litter.
-
Het Amsterdamse Winterparadijs is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are not available to borrow on site, so please bring your own.
